Massive Dream Dictionary courtesy of Gustavus Hindman Miller

We know how much people like to have access to a good dream dictionary and with this in mind, let us point you to http://nickm.com/dreams/ today.

Before diving into the dictionary itself, take time to check Miller’s preface entitled ‘What’s in a Dream? A Scientific and Practical Interpretation of Dreams’. Here we have a large fascinating article looking at the overall subject of dreams. It’s stated :-

The theory used in this book to interpret dreams is both simple and rational. By the using of it you will be surprised to find so many of the predictions fulfilled in your waking life. We deal with both the thought and the dream. The thought or sign implied in the object dreamed of and the influence surrounding it are always considered in the interpretation.

Thoughts proceed from the visible mind and dreams from the invisible mind. The average waking mind receives and retains only a few of the lessons of life. It is largely filled with idle and incoherent thoughts that are soon forgotten. The same may be truly said of the dream mind. Many of our day thoughts are day dreams, just as many of our night dreams are night thoughts. Our day deeds of evil or good pierce or soothe the conscience, just as our night symbols of sorrow and joy sadden or please the objective senses. Our day’s thoughts are filled with the warnings and presence of the inner mind and our night’s thoughts are tinctured and often controlled by our external mind.

As you move on to the resource of 10,000 dreams, you will be fascinated and entertained. The site quotes it’s own favourites but here’s a couple of others to be going on with :-

Tripe
To see tripe in a dream, means sickness and danger. To eat tripe, denotes that you will be disappointed in some serious matter.

Orang-Utang
To dream of an orang-utang, denotes that some person is falsely using your influence to further selfish schemes. For a young woman, it portends an unfaithful lover.

Vivid dreams inspire much discussion on Angel Paths forum

Filed under: Uncategorized — DreamGuru @ 10:12 pm

I recently came across a posting on the Tarot and Mystical forum located on the Angel Paths website regarding experiences of keen sensations and vivid dreams which many of you will find interesting. In actual fact the posting is not really posted in the right kind of forum but I kinda stumbled into it by accident.

What is good is that the simple posting from ‘zingybella’ brought about some intelligent replies and discussion on the subject of recording our dreams as soon as we wake. Many people keep journals of their dreams and the first reply from ‘Sweet Irish Angel’ provides support for this idea. Her reply goes in another interesting direction and that is how to enable yourself to maximise the chance of recalling your dream as you wake. Without this ability, the whole idea of dream interpretation goes out of the window.

As you follow the thread, a contributor known as ‘Mavis Crow’ insist on the need to recall and record the finer details. Later on this same contributor goes into some in-depth advice about the types of dreams we have; metaphorical, astral, precognative, etc.

Forums provide many educational threads and this is a particularly good one which you can find at http://www.angelpaths.com/instantforum30/Topic316886-4-1.aspx.

Dream Views forum the place to go for advice on lucid Dreams

Filed under: Uncategorized — DreamGuru @ 10:11 pm

We all have lucid dreams from time to time and these probably represent the most interesting of our dreams for the sheer reality of them. Sometimes waking from them can be a real disappointment I find ! Personally they tend to occur as the last dreams of the night for me particularly if I’m having a lie in.

Anyway, many of you out there may wish to explore this phenomenon more deeply and acquire the skills needed to experience lucid dreams more often. Well what better place to go than the Dream Views ‘Lucid Dreaming Forum’ where you’ll find a very lively and popular discussion forum to tune into. In the last few days we’ve seen threads on what types of tea to drink, how your first lucid dream came about, lucid dreaming techniques, dream herbs, free lucid dream induction MP3 download, how long does it take, etc.

Point your browser at http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=2 and learn, learn, learn !

Some novel Dream Definitions courtesy of Petrix

Filed under: Uncategorized — DreamGuru @ 9:37 pm

I was very curious and interested to see a couple of angles on dream definitions explored on the Petrix website today. The subjects were simply ‘colours’ and ‘body parts’ which both have significances when we sleep.

For instance, the presence of the colour pink in your dreams is “Associated with tenderness and love. You can expect interesting developments in relations with opposite sex”. The verdict for brown is that “This is an auspicious color to dream about:signifies freedom, success, money and happy and long-lasting union.” Interesting stuff - these are dream definitions I didn’t know about.

While on the same website, I looked into body parts (wierd, eh?!). So what about dreams involving teeth ? Here’s the verdict; “Normally an unfavorable sign in a dream. It signifies displeasure and also shows that you are afraid of losing someone dear to you.”. And what of a neck in your dreams; “To dream about any neck, denotes your present feelings of jealously and resentment. It involves emotional problems involving a friend or relative.”.

Dreaming about relatives can mean many things

Filed under: Uncategorized — DreamGuru @ 9:28 pm

Just been on the iVillage.co.uk website which is aimed at a female audience and picked up on some dream interpretations for the subject of relatives (dodgy subject to pick on, eh ?!).

What’s clear from the outset is that this is a complicated minefield of a subject. A particularly interesting diversion from the discussion on dreams of family is that of a dead relative cropping up in our dreams (funny how little we question the appearance of these people when we dream about them). Apparently the activity you are engaged in with your relative reminds you of your relationship with that person or alternatively the relationship you had with that person is incomplete. Makes a lot of sense when you think about it.

Anyway, there’s tons more to read in this article so just get along to http://www.ivillage.co.uk/astrology/dreams/family/articles/0,,602745_616101,00.html and learn more about what these dreams mean.
